Fishamble is coming to Ionad na Dromoda!
We are thrilled to announce that TAIGH/TŶ/TEACH, a co-production from Internationally acclaimed and Olivier Award winning Irish theatre company Fishamble, Scottish Theatre company Gu Leòr and Welsh Theatre company Theatr Bara Caws, will take place in An Dromaid.
Taigh Tŷ Teach is a major, tri-lingual co-production of a new site-specific piece written by Mairi Morrison in Scotland, Eva O’ Connor in Ireland and Mared Llywelyn Williams in Wales, and performed in Irish and Gaelic with English subtitles.
‘Taigh’ in Gaelic, ‘Tŷ’ in Welsh and ‘Teach’ in Irish. The same meaning in three languages: ‘House’. The centre of our world, it’s a place for family, for gathering, for music. A place for mourning and for celebration, for playing and for belonging. But it’s a place under threat, with second home ownership, rising rents and lack of affordable housing impacting our communities and our languages.
Three houses, three communities and three stories unfolding, each reflecting the challenges shared by the three countries and the people at the heart of them.
This unique show is site-specific, meaning it will take place in three separate venues within Ionad na Dromoda. During the performance, audience members will be guided along the route between each space.
Tickets are limited to 15 per performance with Saturday evening's performance almost sold out, therefore early booking is highly recommended. You can find all details and book below.
