Creative Connections

Are you a Kerry-based artist who lives, works or has ties to the Uíbh Ráthach area and people? You’re welcome to come along to our next Creative Connections gathering to meet fellow artists, to share ideas and to help build a confident and supportive arts community in South Kerry!

At our first gathering we will be talking and thinking about Artists and Rural Ecologies.

Róisin Greaney from TASC https://www.tasc.ie/   will be sharing ideas for a Just Transition for Uíbh Ráthach 2024/25 and the opportunities which will be coming on stream for local artists to work with her through Cumas Ceantar Uíbh Ráthaigh.

Artists Zoe Uí Fhaoláin Green, Emer Fallon and Silke Michels will lead us through the concept and ideas behind their collaborative work on a new, large-scale, interdisciplinary Creative Climate Action Coastal project in West Kerry with the Maharees Conservation Association and the Dingle Hub.

This event will be the first in a series of workshops being presented in advance of an upcoming Creative Places Open Call for new research-based arts and rural ecosystems bursaries in Uíbh Ráthach. The second event in this Creative Connections series is being held on the 9th May - information is available at https://www.uibhrathach.ie/ga/cumas-ceantar

This call out to connect is open to Artists, Arts workers and Environmental Activists – all welcome! We are meeting in the Men’s Shed in Waterville at 7.30pm – 9pm  on Tuesday 30th April. Please join us for the company, the learnings and the new ideas!

In the interests of putting out enough chairs, please do let us know if you plan to join us ealain@comhchoiste.ie
