A grant under the Dormant Accounts scheme was approved for the Comhchoiste Ghaeltacht Uíbh Ráthaigh to purchase a bus suitable for disabled passengers. The bus was approved on 12.07.07 and has since been bringing groups of people to the Day Centres for meals and other services, in conjunction with Kerry Community Transport.

The lift allows users to board the bus without leaving their chair, and the lift is also helpful. The bus is also available for private hire to people / families with special access needs, for example when people need to travel to Caherciveen, Valentia, Milltown to residential respite. If you need to use the bus at any stage please contact the office for further information.

In 2012 we started providing a five day a week service from the various areas of Iveragh to St. Anne's Hospital in Cahirciveen.

We have purchased another new bus since December 2014, and this one is also suitable for the easy transport of people with disabilities. We are grateful to everyone who gave us personal grants and to Andrew Scattergood who raised almost €1,000 for the costs of this new bus as it competed for the mayor of Ballinskelligs. Thank you Scatz!
